The Newcomers Family Fun Committee is partnering with HealthBarn for a heartwarming afternoon of flour, sugar, and service. This Valentine’s Day season, we’re coming together to bake with a purpose!

Our mini-chefs will roll up their sleeves in the HealthBarn kitchen to whip up two different types of cookies. While the oven is busy, the kids will decorate and assemble "Bags of Love" to be donated to two local children’s hospitals through HealthBarn Foundation's Healing Meals program. It’s a wonderful way for our Newcomer families to connect while teaching the kids the joy of giving back to our community.

Of course, hard work deserves a treat! Once the donation bags are ready, every child will participate in a cookie party to celebrate their spirit of giving.

Join us for a meaningful and educational morning at the SSA Ridgewood Food Pantry, where children aged 5 and up will learn how the pantry supports local families in need. 

Each child is asked to bring five (5) non‑perishable food items to donate. After a short, age‑appropriate talk about the role of the pantry in our community, kids will help stock the shelves with their donations – giving them a hands-on way to contribute and understand the importance of helping others.

This magical evening features yogi/artist/producer extraordinaire Ben Wisch leading a deeply restorative yoga sequence and a specially-designed authentic seasonal menu by Stacey Antine, MS, RDN on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 6:30 – 9:00 pm.

This evening will help you align with your own natural energy, to empower you to make choices that promote health and well-being in all aspects of your life. Ben provides a safe, supportive environment that enables participants to approach their practice (even beginners) as a way to feel and heal, and as an opportunity to be reminded of the beauty that exists within us all despite the chaotic world we live in! After the restorative yoga session, you and the group will have the opportunity to share a deliciously prepared autumn seasonal menu with each other to nurture your body, mind and spirit.

What’s on the Menu? Energy boosting super foods fresh from the garden combining lean protein, veggies and whole grains (dietary restrictions can be accommodated).

The SSA provides essential support to our neighbors in need through its local food pantry, which serves families annually, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals, especially during challenging times.

The evening will feature a delightful array of food and beverages, set against the elegant backdrop of the beloved Park West Loft. Guests will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction, showcasing exclusive offerings from local restaurants, golf courses, and unique experiences that highlight the best of our community.
