Our Officers
PRESIDENT
The President is responsible for supervision over the affairs and operations of the Newcomers. The President runs the monthly board meetings, serves as an advisory member of the Nominating Committee, and plans/executes the President's Party in late Spring. The President or Vice President must approve all expense form. The year following the term as President, shall serve as Past President and advisor to the Executive Committee.
PAST PRESIDENT
Serves in an advisory role to the President and the entire Newcomers Board. Attends all turnover meetings to ensure smooth transition of roles and responsibilities, and helps oversee the organization's operations.
VICE PRESIDENT
Duties include assisting the President in all things, and to perform the duties of the President in the President’s absence. Responsible for chairing the Events Committee, onboarding new board members, maintaining the monthly calendar of events, and the Google Workspace. The VP plans the Board Member Cocktail Party and the Ladies Spring Dinner. The VP, along with the President, is authorized to sign expense disbursement forms, and will assume the position of President the following year.
SECRETARY
Duties include preparation and circulation of the board meeting agendas, taking minutes at the monthly board meetings, and distributing minutes and action items. The Secretary is also in charge of setting up Meal Trains for members in need, as well as checking the physical mailbox once a month. Also responsible for Community Outreach, including Sips & Civics.
TREASURER
Management of the organization’s fund and record keeping, including deposits, disbursements, and preparation or the monthly Treasurer’s report. Handles bank reconciliations, and year-end financial statement preparation.
Our Events Committees
The Fundraising Committee heads up Newcomers efforts to raise funds for local charities by planning and executing our annual fundraising gala in addition to other fundraising efforts.
The Family Fun Committee coordinates events geared toward children and their families.
The Memberhship Events Committee hosts many free happy hour meet-ups in addition to two of our most popular annual events - Blooms & Bubbly, and the Holiday Cookie Exchange.
Our Evening Socials Committee gets the season started with a bang every year by putting together our annual Progressive Dinner! They also host a Spring dinner, and many free and casual meet-ups.
Our Hospitality Team puts together two free events every year, which are open to members and non-members alike! It’s a chance for prospective members to see what Newcomers is all about.
Our Support Committees
Responsible for soliciting local businesses to sponsor events and place ads in various communications sent to members.
Responsible for management and distribution of the Weekly Newsletter, the Newcomers website, and Publicity Efforts on Social Media to promote upcoming events and organizational announcements.
Responsible, with the President and VP, for filling board positions. Also for responding to email inquiries about Newcomers and managing the new member introduction.
